Smerek and Florence First Team Southern League All Stars for Lincoln Girls

Lincoln post players Marissa Smerek and Melanie Florence were named to the First Team Southern League All Star Girls team this season. Needles forward Miranda Brackett, wing Gena Chavira and guard Alex Chandler, plus White Pine post Alex Hall, were also named.
Lincoln’s Mary Culverwell was named to the second team All League.
Player of the Year was West Wendover’s Danika Sharp. She averaged 35.5 points per game, ranked second in the nation for girls, according to MaxPreps.com. She led the 15-11 Wolverines into the 2A Southern league playoffs, and recently signed a letter of intent with UNR.
Sharp finished her career with 2,803 points, believed to be an NIAA state record.

Kristin Arthur, Needles; Teal Collins, White Pine; Mary Culverwell, Lincoln County; Jordan Ashby, White Pine; Briana Marruffo, Mountain View; Anna Duerden, Calvary Chapel.
Player of the Year–Danika Sharp, West Wendover.
Coach of the Year–Manuel Calderon, Needles; Stephanie Heller, The Meadows.
