PVHS Loses at Moapa Valley

Both the Panther boys and girls teams lost non-league games at Moapa Valley on Saturday. Matt Vallet had 17 points, and Casen Lewis had 13 points and six assists as the Pirates cruised to an 81-55 win.
Hayden Cooper scored 14 points, and Josh Thompson added eight points and eight assists for Moapa (10-11).
Coach Brian Higbee said Moapa turned the tables on the Panthers, "This time, they handled our press, and we couldn't handle theirs."
Tommy Williams scored 14 and Cody Hosier had 13 for Pahranagat Valley (13-10).
PVHS have two league games this week, Thursday at Spring Mountain. Higbee said it's a game the team needs to win to keep hold of the #3 playoff berth. They travel to winless Sandy Valley on Friday.

PAHRANAGAT VALLEY: Hosier 13, Higbee 8, Roemer 4, C. Hansen 5, Poulson 2, Wadsworth 7, Williams 14, B. Hansen 2. Totals 20 14-17 55.
MOAPA VALLEY: Lewis 13, Frehner 8, Thompson 8, Vallet 17, Solomon 4, Cooper 14, Geary 9, Weiss 8. Totals 32 9-13 81.
JVs: Moapa Valley 52, Pahranagat Valley 10
For the girls, Shilo Parashonts scored seven of her 11 points in the first quarter as the Pirates jumped out to a 17-3 lead, yet just managed to hold on for a 51-47 win. The Panthers tried, but just couldn't catch up.
Caley Dunlap scored 17 points to lead Moapa (6-10).
Dakota Day had 18 points, and Nikki Schofield scored 17 points for the Panthers.
The Lady Panthers (14-9, 6-0) have just one league game this week, Friday at winless Sandy Valley (0-8, 0-5).
